Deftones

Deftones are an alt metal band from Sacramento, CA. They formed in 1988 but didn't come out with a full album until 1995 with "Adrenaline". Since then, they have been one of the most prolific bands in the genre.

They started out as more traditional nu-metal, complete with a DJ, but around the releases of White Pony (2000) and their self-titled record (2003), they started to incorporate more shoegaze influences into their sound, to the point of memes that would debate whether or not the band is shoegaze. While I believe that no album in their discography is without some good songs, I personally prefer their first few albums the most as I think they're the most consistently good. Around The Fur was the album that really got me into the band. Although, I do enjoy Private Music as it feels like a return to form of sorts. Regardless, they are one of my favorite bands at the moment.
